Terms of use

Respect is part of the protocol.

Near is for intentional sharing between people who are physically together. These rules keep that exchange safe and lawful.

Effective August 31, 2026 · Version 1.0

Agreement and age eligibility

These terms govern your use of Near. You must be at least 13 years old to use the app. By using Near, you confirm that you meet this requirement and agree to these terms and the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use Near.

Use Near deliberately

Use Near only with people who can knowingly agree to a Meet. Do not use the app to threaten, harass, stalk, impersonate, exploit, deceive, or share unlawful or infringing material. Do not try to bypass verification, access another person's device, disrupt the service, or reverse engineer security protections except where law permits.

Your content and other people

You keep responsibility for the content you create and share. Make sure you have the rights and permission needed to use it. Do not reproduce or share another person's Moments outside a Meet without their permission. Screenshots, screen recordings, and external cameras cannot be technically prevented.

Near Plus

Near Plus is a one-time non-consumable digital unlock processed by Apple. The App Store displays the final local price before purchase. You can restore an eligible purchase using the same Apple Account. Refunds and billing disputes are handled under Apple's rules, and access may change if Apple revokes or refunds a transaction.

Availability and backups

Nearby connections depend on compatible devices, permissions, radios, and local conditions. Features may change as we improve safety and reliability. Keep your own encrypted exports: Near cannot recover a deleted local journal or a forgotten export password.

Safety and enforcement

You can end a Meet, block a verified device identity, and send a safety report. We may investigate reports, restrict access, preserve evidence where lawful, and cooperate with authorities when required. See the Safety page for response expectations.

No emergency service

Near and its support channel are not emergency services. If someone is in immediate danger, contact local emergency services. The app is provided without a guarantee that every nearby connection or local export will always be available, to the extent permitted by law.

Changes and contact

We may update these terms and will post the new effective date here. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised terms. Questions can be sent to support@usenear.online.
